Deer Resistant Plants
Deer can be lovely to look at in the wild, but when they are dining on your most valuable landscape plants they can raise the blood pressure of even the most ardent nature lover. Use our list to find suggestions for plants that seem to be less palatable to deer. These plants have been observed to be less likely to be damaged by deer, but none of them are immune to deer browsing. Under the right circumstances, deer will eat almost any plant. Click here to go to our Deer Resistant Plants page.
Black Walnut Toxicity
Occasionally, clients will call our offices with complaints that they have an area in their yard where they just can’t seem to grow anything. One of the questions we ask is “Is there a Black Walnut tree nearby?” Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) and a related species, Butternut (Juglans cinerea) produce juglone, a substance that is poisonous to a wide variety of plants. Our list consists of plants observed to be tolerant of Black Walnut Toxicity. Click here to view our list.
